Description

Chet Baker delivers his signature, intimate trumpet and vocal storytelling on Blood, Chet and Tears, a 1970-era set that fuses jazz mood with pop-adjacent material. The program features Baker's takes on the Beatles' Something and The Archies' Sugar, Sugar, alongside Come Saturday Morning and And When I Die. Originally recorded around 1970, this Verve By Request reissue presents Baker's melodic sensibility and understated phrasing at the center of the arrangements. A compelling snapshot of Baker engaging with contemporary material, it showcases his ability to find personal resonance in beloved tunes.
