There should be no yellowing, no foxing, no water damage, and no annotations of any kind on the cover and the pages. For paperbacks, there should not be any crease marks on the spine. “Hard Times” was published at a time (1854) when the problem of education and the growing struggle between capital and labour were matters of bitter controversy.

Published 1965.

Binding of book is loose. Missing dust jacket. Moderate shelfwear, fraying, darkening and fading of covers. Small wormholes on bottom of front cover. Some tanning and foxing on fore edge and bottom edge of book. Heavy tanning and foxing on top edge of book. Some foxing on both endpapers. Small wormholes on front endpaper. Annotations in pen and pencil on title page. Moderate foxing, several waterstains and small wormholes on certain pages.
