On Justice in Society

Professor Ginsberg's starting-point is Aristotle's dictum, 'Injustice arises when equals are treated unequally, and also when unequals are treated equally’. His book is an examination of the connection between justice and equality, and the sort of differences that may justify differential treatment. “On Justice in Society” is of equal importance to the student of jurisprudence or of moral and political philosophy, while for the general reader it provides an intellectually challenging appraisal of the problems facing the democratic State.
