The Star Diaries
The Star Diaries

Satirical cosmic adventures question technology and existence.

If you’re intrigued by that unique blend of wit and wisdom, "The Star Diaries" might be your next favorite read. Imagine hitchhiking across the galaxy only to find each stop more absurd and thought-provoking than the last. Lem's collection is more than just escapism; it’s a mirror held up to humanity, reflecting our foibles and philosophies through the lens of interstellar travel. Dive in for a trip that’s as intellectually stimulating as it is fantastically imaginative.

Note: While we do our best to ensure the accuracy of cover images, ISBNs may at times be reused for different editions of the same title which may hence appear as a different cover.

Description

Stanislaw Lem's set of short stories, written over a period of twenty years, all feature the adventures of space traveller Ijon Tichy and recount him spinning in time-warps, spying on robots, encountering bizarre civilizations and creatures in space and being hopelessly lost in a forest of supernovae. This is a philosophical satire on technology, theology, intelligence and human nature from one of the greatest of science fiction writers.
