Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino

Arctic Monkeys' Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino, their sixth studio album, was released on May 11, 2018. The record pivots from their earlier guitar-driven work toward a cinematic lounge-inflected sound, weaving lunar hotel intrigue and storytelling through Alex Turner's vivid lyrics. Written largely on a Steinway Vertegrand piano gifted to Turner, the album presents piano-forward textures and lush, atmospheric arrangements that underpin tracks like Star Treatment, Four Out of Five, and The Ultracheese. The project's concept - a retro-futuristic hotel on the moon - explores technology, fame, and isolation while maintaining Arctic Monkeys' sharp pop sensibility.
